On Wednesday, April 9th, students and community members gathered at the Cummins Area School oval to celebrate the kickoff of SA Youth Week 2025 with a vibrant event. The weather was perfect, allowing both kids and adults to enjoy a variety of free activities, including Xtreme Kites and Paddling, a popular wellbeing station hosted by Our Town Cummins, and the Library's Pop-Up book stall. Our Crew Classes actively contributed to the festivities with food stalls, a golf simulator, a Henna tattoo bar, carnival games, and an exciting obstacle course. Amy’s guitar buskers provided entertainment for carnival attendees.
A heartfelt thank you goes out to DHS for the grant and the Lower Eyre Council for their financial contribution, which made bubble soccer, archery tag, and inflatable rollers available at no cost for everyone. Special thanks to Julie Crettenden from Lower Eyre Council for her organizational efforts, Megan Briese for setting up on Wednesday, and our Crew Classes and teachers for their fantastic food stalls and engaging carnival games.
