From preschool to foundation with our Mid Year Intake program

Starting school is a big milestone, and at Cummins Area School, we’re committed to making it smooth and successful. Our Mid-Year Intake Program offers a thoughtfully planned transition from Preschool to Foundation, focused on nurturing each child’s confidence, independence, and sense of belonging.

The transition includes five structured visits across Term 2, gradually building each child's familiarity with the classroom, routines, and teachers. Families are supported through tours, regular communication, and a clear timeline that eases the shift into school life.

Led by experienced Early Years teachers, Miss Indiah and Miss Thorpe, our Mid-Year Foundation program provides a rich, play-based learning environment that nurtures each child’s social, emotional, physical, and academic growth. Through engaging experiences that foster early literacy and numeracy, spark curiosity in the Kitchen and Garden program and Bush School, students build confidence and develop the essential skills for lifelong learning.

We look forward to welcoming our new students full time from next term.
