Exploring the Paddock to Plate Journey at the Year 1/2 Learning Exhibition Showcase

On Friday 14th November, our Year 1/2 class proudly held our Learning Exhibition Showcase for our Paddock to Plate Learning Expedition. We were fortunate to welcome families and friends into our classroom to celebrate everything we have explored, created, and achieved over the past term and a half.

Our students absolutely shone as they showcased their learning — sharing their art pieces, hands-on experiences, research, reflections, and the new knowledge they’ve built throughout this journey. Watching them confidently guide their special visitors through their work made for such a heart-warming and successful morning.

Our Paddock to Plate Learning Expedition has been a rich and authentic experience for our learners. Over the past 15 weeks, students have:

🌱 Explored where our food comes from and the journey it takes before reaching our plates

🚜 Connected with our local community through field trips and on-farm experiences

👩‍🌾 Welcomed local experts into our classroom to share their knowledge

🥕 Investigated local produce grown right here on the Eyre Peninsula

🎨 Expressed their understanding through artwork, writing pieces, science investigations, and hands-on food learning

📚 Engaged in thoughtful discussions about sustainability, packaging, healthy eating, and the importance of supporting local producers

Today’s showcase brought all of this learning together and highlighted the real-world connections that make Learning Expeditions so powerful. We are incredibly proud of each student and grateful to our families for supporting them throughout this journey.

Thank you to everyone who attended and helped make this morning so special.
