The School Based Social Worker (SBSW) works alongside school communities to enhance student wellbeing and their engagement in learning, in the Secondary year level space.
The SBSWs are guided by a project charter which identifies the key activities of their role and can include “Universal and Targeted” group work, 1:1 intervention (mild to moderate mental health concerns), community development which includes parenting support and school capacity building.
Example of Group Work Interventions for Secondary Students

Mental Fitness Challenge (Black Dog Institute)
Life Hacks 101
Wellbeing Workshops

Headspace Schools Workshops
Youth Opportunities is a program that is rolled out every year for Year 10’s and is funded by Bendigo Bank.
